This mailbox is monitored by a person, and we answer every message.

When you write to us, include: the phone number on your account (or the last 4 digits), your device model and OS version, and a short description of what happened — screenshots help.

Safety and moderation

JoinUp has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Every user profile has in-app Report and Block actions, and we act on reports within 72 hours — removing content and ejecting offending users where a report is substantiated. Details are in our Terms of Service.

How do I report someone?

  1. Open the person's profile from a Joinup or Group you share.
  2. Tap Report.
  3. Choose a reason (spam, harassment, inappropriate content, or other) and optionally add a note.

Reports are confidential: the person you report is never told who reported them. Our team reviews every report and acts within 72 hours.

How do I block someone?

  1. Open the person's profile.
  2. Tap Block and confirm.

Blocking stops new direct messages and notification detail from that person. You can see everyone you've blocked, and unblock them, from your settings. Anonymous posts in a Community stay visible after a block, because hiding them would reveal who wrote them; report those instead. If someone is behaving abusively, please also report them so we can act.

How do I change my name?

Open the Profile tab and tap your name to edit it. JoinUp has no profile picture — your avatar is your initials, drawn on your phone from the name you set, so changing your name changes it.

How do I delete my account?

  1. Open the Profile tab.
  2. Scroll down and tap Delete account.
  3. Confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

Deleting your account cancels your Joinups, removes you from rosters, anonymizes your profile, and removes your invites, memberships, and device tokens. Your phone number is cleared from your account record. See the Privacy Policy for details. No email or phone call needed — deletion is fully self-service inside the app.

Joinups and notifications

Why can't I see older messages in a chat?

By design, your view of a Joinup's chat starts from the moment you joined it. Messages sent before you joined are not shown to you.

Who can see an anonymous Joinup's guest list?

Anonymity covers who created the Joinup, and only while it is still filling up: until then people see how many are in, not whose idea it was. When the Joinup locks in, the host's name is shown to everyone who can see it, and that cannot be undone — the app tells you so before you post. Everyone confirmed for a Joinup is a visible member of it either way.

How do I control notifications?

You can enable or disable push notifications in your device's system settings for JoinUp, and adjust notification preferences (including quiet hours) in the app's Profile settings.

Why does JoinUp ask for my location?

To show Joinups near you and to search for venues, while the app is open — and, if you switch on arrival sharing for a particular Joinup, to show the people confirmed for that Joinup that you are on your way, until it ends. All of it is optional, and JoinUp never tracks your location in the background.
